Overview
Do you want to be a business owner but you aren’t confident you know how to execute every aspect of business?
Do you want a business that is only part time but with full time revenue?
Do you want a franchise but you aren’t sure which one is right for you?
Do you want to be in business for yourself but not by yourself?
I am a USNA ’14 grad and a Certified Franchise Consultant/ Franchise Recruiter. Since I am paid as a recruiter by the franchise industry, my services are non-committal and completely free and the price of a franchise is the exact same for you whether you work with me or go direct. I have worked with candidates ranging from those still in the military who want to know their options to those who are retired and wanted a passive opportunity (which I have). Even if you aren’t sure but want to learn about franchising in general, please reach out to me!
Timeline: From reaching out to me to purchasing a franchise will typically range from two to three months but it has been done in as little as 30 days to as long as over a year because someone found the perfect franchise but wanted to work for another year before starting his business.
Continuing services: All along this process, I will act as a personal advisor, will give you questions you should be asking the franchisor, and can answer any other questions you have about norms in the franchise industry.
How you really know this franchise is for you: The education process of a franchise will include webinars, speaking with corporate leaders, receiving a document called the Franchise Disclosure Document, calling a number of current owners, and going to the Headquarters to shadow an owner, get to know the corporate team, and do a two-way interview. This interview is where you will find out if you want to work with this franchisor and they will find out if they think you can represent their brand properly.
Franchise Disclosure Document: A document that you must have for 15 days before you are legally allowed to own a franchise. It will include litigation against the company (if any), background of the leadership, average cost of opening, average earnings of franchisees, the names, email addresses, physical address, and phone numbers of all franchise owners, and more.
If you see a franchise I have listed and you really like it, please reach out to me and not go directly to them otherwise I will not be credited for recruiting you. Also, you rarely want to start the research phase without another franchise to compare your first choice to; I can give you a second franchise to consider.
My goal is to get as many veterans into business ownership as possible and I believe franchising is one of the absolute best ways anyone can be a business owner because of the amazing training, support, and rock solid business plan all of the franchises I represent will offer you.
About Tracer Consulting
I am a USNA '14 grad and a certified franchise consultant. The listings I have are franchises with veteran discounts, their business model plays to the strengths of veterans (leadership, ability to follow a plan, planning/logistics, etc), they have proven records of success, and the potential for great returns. If you want to learn about other franchise opportunities, opportunities in other locations or other industries please contact me.
I can also help you find funding partners that will help you obtain a loan. The two major SBA loans are: 1) The Express Loan which is used for home based franchises, is up to $150,000, requires and 10% cash injection, and no collateral. 2) A standard loan that can be used for non-home based franchises, is up to $5 million, requires a 20%-30% cash injection, and requires collateral. For either of these loans, the rates are prime +2.75% (currently totaling 6%) and if you are funded before September 27, 2020 then the government will pay for the first 6 months of your loan- they are doing this to encourage entrepreneurship during the corona virus pandemic.
